AA Award goes to Holgates Hollins Farm

Silverdale camping and touring site Holgates Hollins Farm has received the highly prestigious AA Campsite of the Year 2013 – Roger Almond Award for Most Improved Campsite. This award is handed out in appreciation of the presentation and service they offer. The award is named in honour of Roger Almond who passed away in 2009 after two decads at the forefront of quality inspection.

During his 20 years wit the AA Roger helped and encouraged many campsites to develop and improve their sites, so this award is a fitting tribute to his hard work and dedication to an industry he loved.

Hollins Farm has always been described as a ‘proper’ campsite, it boasts a David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award, and a five star rating from VisitBritain. The team at the site constantly strive to be the best in the business, making every effort to maintain and improve standards year on year.

So with this in mind it’s no surprise the AA have chose to recognise the hard work of the team at Hollins. The site boasts amazing facilities, with an all new purpose built facilities block; where attention to detail and real care have been taken to provide every possible comfort for campers such as under floor heating, full wheelchair accessible and family changing facilities, as well as an all new laundrette. These improvements, the warmth of the welcome by the onsite team, the cliff top setting, the acres of trees and green fields and endless skies that make Hollins what it is a ‘proper campsite’.

David Hancock, Co-Ordinator of the AA Campsite of the Year Awards 2013 said: “I wish to congratulate the team at Holgates Hollins Farm, who have been recognised for their hard work and dedication in making continuous improvements on their site throughout the 2012 season, as well as their unstinting efforts, attention to detail and exceptional customer service, they thoroughly deserve to be awarded the Roger Almond Award for Most Improved Campsite 2013.‘’
