Ramblers Association name the Lake District as best walking destination

The Lake District has recently been voted as the best destination for walking in the UK, by the Ramblers Association. The Ramblers Association is the largest walking charity in Britain and their members have recently made the decision that the Lake District does offer by far the best walks in the country.

The marketing director of the Cumbria Tourist Board is Sheona Southern and she has commented, “This recognition by the Ramblers Association shows that we are a fantastic destination for inspirational walking. The landscaping Cumbria is incredibly varied and we think this is why people love walking here so much.”

The Lake District spans nearly 900 square miles and it has rugged mountains, high fells, tranquil valleys and varied landscapes. There are routes in this part of the country to suit people of all fitness levels, whether you are an experienced walker, or just starting out. It really is a wonderful location for everyone who has a passion for the outdoors.
